Need cylinder bored - local shop?March 4, 2008 @ 4:08pm
Well, the used Grizzly 660 that I bought a while back is using a little bit more oil than I like, so I'm looking at tearing into it and doing a top-end rebuild. While I've got it apart, I'm probably going to drop in a 11:1 Wiseco piston (stock compression is 9.1:1) and port the head. The question I have is, assuming that I need to clean up the cylinder by over-boring it one size up to 100.5mm, is there a Russellville area machine shop that can do a top quality bore/hone job on this ~4" cast iron liner cylinder? If not in the Russellville area, where is the best shop to do this type of work within ~1 hour drive?
