| Heber Springs MX | September 21, 2008 @ 4:34pm | Granson Montana rode two classes back to back. He beat all of them, the KTMs too, inthe open 50 class. Montana rode his xtreme in the 85 class really well, fast in the turns.
Daddy Layne rode his Enduro in the over 30 and rode hard. Lot o fun for me to watch. I really wanted to ride.
Layne went to the Cass race today with J. Mooney and JV and Mr. Fry. Jamie use to jump almost out of the race track back in the 90s.
Next weekend is more mx.

| www.ccmxspeedway.com | September 26, 2008 @ 9:13am | I get the grand kids today and tomorrow and they are racey. Montana gets a new to him CR85 Expert with little wheels. He can ride it in 85 7-11. and either a 6 speed or auto Mcbor. I plan to get some pratic at 89 mx. Both of these kids are learning fast. Their dad is under the supervision of Clint. Layne is going into a training program, so I hear. He will need it if he plans on beating the front two A-Seniors. Ron Mooney is really going good. |

| September 26, 2008 @ 9:31am | Ron Mooney is Damn good. There is a good reason why guys ride A Senior:
It is because they know how to RIDE and RIDE SMART. I made the mistake of thinking I could compete in A Senior; they could have used me for traction...but they were very polite about it and just roosted me.
Nice people.

| A-Senior | September 26, 2008 @ 1:26pm | | My spies have been following R. Mooney, seems he rides at least 110 training miles per week. Ronnie rides that much or more. Seems like fast tough guys ride a lot. Humm. Come to think of it Balie Wre finishes the long courses too. |

| Heber Springs MX | October 11, 2008 @ 1:52pm | This is MX night again and Montana didnot get any practice at all this week. We will just try to be safe. I believe Layne and Josh are going to be there, also.

| cleburne county mx | October 12, 2008 @ 1:47pm | Good race night for the Smith's. Layne looked 25 and finished second the last moto, he and two others went down on the start of the first moto. He worked up to 5th. Montana finished first in all motos with very little competion. They usually run two to three classes together and Montana tries to beat them all with his MacBor 50. The 85 is a different story, the bike is too mucn and we are being careful not to go too fast too soon. Great fun for Gramps |

| October 14, 2008 @ 11:34pm | | Josh did good, it was his first MX. The Motocross has been good for me, it has helped with making the intensity of the start of a HareScrambles seem tame, epsecially since the Novices are always to my inside on the start and they forget to commit to make the first turn. Two hit me the second moto, and just stood me up, the first moto they stood me up and rode me to the ground. Seems the WR runs out of power at the end of the start strait as I never see the other bikes until then. Alot of fun, but not the value of a HareScramble.... |

| Heber Springs MX | October 25, 2008 @ 10:09pm | Montana does it again, this time they ran the 65s and 50s together. Montana led both motos wire to wire with his Mcbor 50 pulling the 65s in the straights. Last moto one kid on a 65 hung around for a couple of laps before Montana put him away. People really look and price the Macbor but they don't buy. Looks like I will need more grand kids to be able to use them all up. Layne rode his KTM which he found out was faster than any 450 four stroke. I had demoed that to Pete. Power out of the turns before the doubles was weird according to Layne. This is the report I got. I didnot get to go as my mother is very ill. Good job Montana and Layne. |

| Heber Springs MX | November 9, 2008 @ 9:53am | Montana and Nicholas made it to Cleburne county for the last race of the year at that track. It did not go as well as usual. These two kids forgot all they ever knew about starts. Montana was more than last of ten on his 50. Iknew it was going to be a long nite when he ripped the valve core out during practice. I was in the GTO and decided to go home and get help for him. Those old retired people drive in the 20mph range on hwy 16. No place to pass. I finally got a 100yd straight and went to second gear just above Pangburn. I didn't know anyone could blink lights so fast and long. They were still blinking about a mile back, any way the 50 ran the 7th race and we had it ready. Shane did the work. Shane is their stepfather. Nicholas had fast competion but he rode good and hard. Montana didn't ride his 85 very hard which is okay since he is so young and small for an 85. After spotting the class about three seconds off the start, he was passing the leader in the first moto when he washed the front. Layne and Shane helped him get going and in less than 30 feet he went over the burm and crashed hard, and it hurt. The last moto was a much worse start, last like 4 seconds. It was too much to overcome though he did finish second in a fast class. The bright spot was their dad, he had a stellar ride. They ran the pros with the over 40 and Layne and his 300 KTM used the long start straight to make it through the first turn first every time. Out of state pros were fast, one small back kid riding a Kaw. was as smooth as I have seen in a long time. I didnt get his name but he will be a contender in the big time. Layne was clearing the table top and this kid jump over Layne. I ask both ,"how did you know you wouldn' land on Layne?" They said it was preplanned, Layne would be extreme right and Kaw rider could use all the left side of the track. I may go get a new 250 smoke, get the urge after watching. I wrote this so the Iraqs could stay enthused. Jgas and Pete. |

| November 10, 2008 @ 10:09am | | Im cheering for Lane. He seems to motivated to get faster. I know he is ridding a lot in the last few months. I watch him and clint ride down lower loosey yesterday. It did not take them very long to get to the bottom. The only way i could get to the bottom that fast is to fall. |
