| New trail at Brock. | October 9, 2006 @ 7:46pm | | I made a connecting trail going up schoolhouse hollow that comes out near white oak mtn road. It is stuff that would make Tim Carr grin like a puppy eatin peanut butter! You never even think about getting out of first gear. There aren't any big hills, just tight and technical for about 15 minutes. |

| October 12, 2006 @ 9:01pm | I just completed cutting 0.2 miles of new trail at Sweet Spot. Took me about 1.5 hours to do it and it takes me one minute to ride it! I can get into 3rd gear too! |

| October 13, 2006 @ 10:22pm | Cary, Do you ride at SS? When?
I will be gone for the next two weeks but when I get back maybe we can meet up there some late afternoon?
If you go out there look for the yellow ribon on the back side of the pond. It won't take you too long to figure out the new section. Won't take long to ride it either. I've cut most of the logs off the existing trail - big improvement.
Jim don't jump (never has) and now Jim don't go fast. |

| Sho Nuff | October 14, 2006 @ 3:50pm | | It's been a while since I've ridden out there. Been going to Ol' Crow every day but will venture out there tomarrow. Look forward to seeing what you've done. I'm always glad to help make a trail and we'll create rotation of the great knobby tire when you get back. |

| October 30, 2006 @ 7:40pm | Sorry, I havn't looked here in awhile. Yes, it's marked, but not very well. I did'nt want to mark it any better until after Deer season. There are plenty ribbons for a Daniel Boone like yourself to follow, Jim.
The start is almost to the bottom of Schoolhouse, on the last flat ledge before the bottom, marked with 3 ribbons around a tree. Turn left, and proceed up the valley. The trail goes between several bluffs, twisting in and out next to the West bluff. You ride between 50 ft walls with about 10 feet between.
After you get past the bluffs, you do a bunch of off camber, and go down near the creek, past a little waterfall and pool. Then you swithchback across the creek several times, working up the valley. Then you turn up another valley, which branches off to the NorthWest, finally coming out past the big deer camp on the ATV trail. I did'nt mark the last 300 or so feet until after deer season. The trail just stops, and then you continue up the hill til you hit the ATV trail.
This is almost a trials trail. Harder than anything I saw Tim make. There aren't any long hills, but there are several with no run. You have to ride in a slick creek, going upstream, several times, up some small ledges.
All in all, it can take 20 min if you don't mess up at all, or 2 hours if you make a couple errors. Pack a lunch and Advil! |
