New Years NeboJanuary 1, 2008 @ 11:16pm
I cleaned up some more trail today at Nebo. I'll post pictures later. I got rid of "Mr. Flip me over the handlebars" rock. I talked to Doug about going Sunday afternoon and working on the SW to SE section of trail. Pete, you up for that? Anyone that wants to help is more than welcome and would be greatly appreciated.

Ive talked to Jason Fleming and David Rogers. They plan on coming out Sunday afternoon to help with Nebo. Jason is a new member. David will be signing up soon. Its nice to see new members who are willing park there ride and grab some ribbon and a saw. These guys cant make the meetings because they live in the Ft. Smith area. However, they are going to be a great asset to the club.

Cary, Cary, Cary...don't you know that rocks are your friends? Now you have taken it away from its Nebo community of rocks. Fortunately there is a rock adoption shelter nearby at Brock Creek. You need to take that rock to Brock Creek so it can be with the other displaced rocks. Spread the love, not the fear.

Don't you know rocks have nearly killed me? Don't you know my bike is bigger than me? Don't you know I'm the size of a leprechaun riding a Leviathon in which rocks cause danger, injury, mutilization, affliction, infliction, trauma, flesh wounds, "owies", Maalox Momments, bodily harm, scuffed epidermus and dimonds! Friends my @#! and that's coming from a pastor! Now lookee there. You've done gone and pushed me over the edge. I've got to go to Mike's anti-potty mouth classes. "Rocks are your friends"...now that's about as funny as waxing the floor at the old folks home.

Great idea; now you're talking!

Let's wax the rocks!

Man, that Cary; always thinking!

Now Cary you can't be like that. You have to be fair and treat all parties equally. If you are going to move one rock out of the trail then you have to move ALL the rocks out of the trail.
Just think how that one rock, which was given a degrading nick-name to boot, feels about being moved from his comfortable and prominent place in the trail. All his buddy rocks are probably laughing and shouting taunts at him now.

Maybe by gathering all the other rocks on the trails and stacking them gently near "Mr. Flip me over the handlebars" you can build a community of "nice" rocks at Nebo while at the same time start the emotional healing process Mr. Flip is needing.

I have a feeling you have tried to talk to Mr. Flip but the words you chose where probably not too comforting to him. He needs other rocks to help him.
And besides in my experience rocks do not respond too well to human verbal commands, at least for me they don't.

Maybe Mr. Flip rock just needs a girl rock.

There has to be rock mating going on 'cause they keep producing. Now Pete may be on to something with the wax thing. If we wax the rocks, there's no grip for us or them which will cease all rock reproduction.

Cary;

Have you ever met a sexually frustrated rock? I have, not a pretty sight. I would hate to be the sorry person to meet one, especially alone on Nebo.

Hey Cary you don't want to ride with me because Jim D says I create a slow moving vortex that sucks rock back into the trail. I would say he is lying but he is not the first one to accuse me of that!!!

I've personally witnessed cactus SUCK rocks from several feet off the trail right into his rear tire! It's phenomenal!
DO NOT ride close behind cactus on rocky trails! Large square rocks that have never been on the trail before will spit from his rear tire and roll right into your path! He has some sort of little Katrina going on back there.

Hey! Maybe if we could somehow get cactus's bike to run backwards, like Zach's KTM 125, we could have cactus ride down the trails backwards! Wouldn't this throw the rocks that are on the trail to places they have never been off the trail?

Sounds easier than waxing rocks.

Now I know Cactus can throw mud. I'm still recovering from a high school mishap when I rode with him back then so I'm not doubting the rock thing.

I guess from now on I need to ride my atv in 4 wheel full lock. That way I will go slow and not suck those rock back in the trail.
Thanks Cary for reminding me of the high school roost. I still feel bad when I laugh everytime at you mud covered glasses.
