Rode Sweet Spot today 10-14-07October 14, 2007 @ 6:15pm
I met with Doug at 9:00 this morning and had a great time. You guys have done a nice job with the trails out there!
Although my bike was not quite up to snuff, Doug was a great help. He helped with my carb and gave me a few needed pointers. My bike is running better now than it ever has since I've owned it.

Anyway, I will be out there more as soon as I replace my steering stem bearings, wheel bearings, brakes, and tires. Should be like a new bike then!

Thanks again Doug, I had a great time.

No problem Dave. Glad i could help. RVDRS I have to take my helmet off to Dave. He ran at a good pace at SP. No big deal right. Well he did it with no brakes or bark busters. Not to mention his steering bearings were about locked up. It took some serious effort to turn the bars. I tried to ride his bike but it was just to scary for me. As soon as he gets his bike staighten out he will improve even more. Dont forget to include him in your ridding plans. He is a good ol boy from Dardanelle. He lives in Van Buren now. He comes to Russellville every other weekend.

I cant wait to get back out there. It may be awhile though. My "dinosaur" of a bike will need immediate attention before I can ride again.

Dave your bike will be great. Just need a little TLC. Ive seen bike a couple years old that had more issues than yours. Just fix the minnor things we talked about and you will be surprised at the difference you'll ride.

Don't touch those steering head bearings; that's your factory steering stabilizer!Grin

Ol' Dougie can really set up a bike. Riding his older model CR is like riding a new bike. Even better than riding a new bike. It's an MX bike which works as well in the woods as my fairly well set up 04 KTM exc did, which had a bunch of mods. I watched his suspension eat up everything at the Sweet Spot and never kick or do anything weird. I usually hate MX bikes in the woods, but I was impressed with Dougs.

Gotta hand it to Doug, he really learnt sumpthin in dat dere motorcicle skool he dun went too.

I am sorry that I missed a bunch of you guy out at Sweet Spot on the 10th of Nov. I took my Brother-in-Law (Jason Fleming) there at 9:00 and rode until almost 12:00. I think we past Mr. McVey on the way out. We had a good time at playland, and just a good ride in general.
Man, that new section with the orange ribbons is tight. I loved it, but I really need to get my bike over to Dougs before I can ride again.

If I was riding when yall were riding, you passed me 'cause I'm slow! I heard you but didn't see you. I was working on the newest section and getting trees off the trail. I know I know, you're supposed to ride over'em but the last time I tried it, I landed in London. Just me, I had to walk back to get my bike. I want to head to Nebo soon. It's great trail trimming weather. On another note, I took my kids up to Ol' Crow and we saw a buck and doe. We watched them for about 10 minutes. Saw 3 doe running through the woods too. 5 deer in a short time. Very cool!

We had just pulled out, and you were turning into Sweet Spot. I wish I could have stayed longer or have come back, but my son had a birthday party that afternoon.
