Chicken Spiders @ Sweet SpotJuly 26, 2007 @ 11:47pm
Went riding today at the Sweet Spot. It was great to get out in the woods and ride 11 miles of trail (from truck and back). I don't know if you know this or not but spiders rebuild their webs in a hurry. I had to stop a few times and clear them off of my glasses and helmet. I was still enjoying myself when all of a sudden I came around this corner in 3rd gear and hit the King Kong of spiders. My first thought was "was that a chicken?" Then I got that itching, spittin' thing going on realizing that I was covered in spider web so I stopped and cleaned myself up and realized I had just smacked a spider with my chin guard. No joke, I heard it smack my helmet. Now I don't know about you but, when I reflect on situations like this, I get the same feeling I had during the experience itself therefore I must go now.

Chicken spiders? Never heard that before. You are having all kinds of trouble with the wild life at the sweet spot. First it was Snakes then Turtles and now Chicken Spiders. Did you actually see this 6 inch spider? I think you hit a stick or something and just got scared. Cary are you sure about 3rd gear?Smile

Sorry I'm so late in responding to this Cary, but those are not spiders, they are Trail Orbs.
They are magical. If you yell out the secret word while approcahimng them, they let you through with out any scarry effects.

I do not know the secret word.

You know, a few years ago, someone, maybe it was Tim or Gorman, found some Mary-juana growin' in dem woods. Maybe it was Pete's! Naw, chicken spiders sounds more like LSD. You know, come to think of it, former Hippies about Pete's age seem to ride Beemers. Flashback?
