I'm getting kinda bored with BC so I thought we should ride all the good hills; Loosie Lower, Loosie Upper, Wilson, Kent's Gulch, Hill With No Name, Kick Stand, etc all up hill. We'll finish up the day riding Copperhead backwards.

That should make for a pretty interesting day, don't you think?

What time you wanna start Duglas?

Do you think the BC campsite will be full of gunhunters?, being as it will be the opening weekend of the first gunseason??

Last year me and my son-in-law rode there on the opening day of deerseason and was stopped by several gun toteing ATVers asking us where our orange vest were. One ATVer even grabbed my SIL's arm as we tried to go around on a narrow part of the trail...

This weekend is not going to be the best to be in the woods, but it has never stopped us before.
We've all been hasseled by deer hunters out at BC, but as long as we ride in a group we'll be OK.

What are the rules on orange vests? Is there some law that says they must be worn during deer season? Does this rule apply only to one hunting, while they are hunting, or to anyone in the woods?
Any of you hunters out there know the answer?

Maybe the leader should wear orange vest. Just kidding. I don't know of any law requiring anyone except the hunter to wear orange. If you ride a KTM you should be covered.
Hunters on atvs? Where is jgas when we need him? This sounds like atv riders to me.
Ride and have fun. I am thinking I may get to join you.

Cool Vernon!
Now we know: No orange is necessary unless one is hunting in gun season from a motorcycle.

Here's what the regs state:
"Hunter Orange Requirements
Hunter orange, chartreuse or blaze camouflage must be worn by all hunters during modern gun or muzzleloader deer, elk and bear seasons.

The colored area of the garment must total at least 400 square inches above the waist. In addition, a hunter orange or chartreuse head garment must be worn. If you are hunting in an area closed to firearms deer, elk and bear seasons or if you are hunting migratory birds, these safety colors are not required."

Meet at Zing TH 10:00amNovember 7, 2008 @ 1:53pm
In talking with Doug, we will be parking and meeting at the Zing Trailhead.
To get to Zing go like you are going to the campground but do not turn right at the second fork - instead, keep going down hill and across the low water bridge. (If you cross the dam you went the wrong way, turn around and take the first right after the dam, take that road to Zing)
Stay on this road for a mile or so until you come to a clearing on your left that is fenced with a cedar fence -you can't miss it.
Camping is not permitted at Zing so we should be clear of deer hunters there.

see ya,

Floyd Ward, Lane Smith, Clint Carr, Barney, Catus, Johny Verdin, Jim Dev, David Barclay and myself had a great ride. No one was hurt and we rode about 35 miles. Clint and Lane prob. rode more. They went on their own so we did not slow them up. Barney Rode with them for a while and came back to the slow group after a couple of hours. This was floyds first time at BC. He did quite well. He has only been riding for about six months. Over all everyone had a great time. Thanks to Jim Dev for being our tour guild. There was some pictures taken im sure they will be email to everyone at a later dated.

Yea it was definitely a good ride!
Good weather, good people, good riders.
All we could have asked for is someone to have pre-run the trails with a leaf-blower!!!!
Can you say "cant see the trail", can't see all those 'here I am's!' hidden under 4 inches of leaves.
Going down Loosie Lower was like sliding on a carpet of leaves, can you say "brakes don't work at all!"

It was a good day, it just got dark too soon for me.
Thanks to Doug for making it happen.
