September RVDR MeetingSeptember 1, 2008 @ 6:34pm
Cary will not be able to attend the RVDR meeting if we hold it tomorrow. He will be celebrating his anniversary instead, Congratulations Cary! Due to this and scheduling with Labor Day weekend and all we should plan on having it next Tuesday on the 9th same place The Journey, same time 6:30pm. Hope this doesn't change your plans and look forward to seeing you there.

That sounds great. Next Tuesday it is. I'll have the Steel City race ready to watch. 14 years for Becky & I this Tuesday. Hey Gorman, will that Rhino be ready Tuesday? I'd like to take my wife up to Nebo and show her the work we're doing up there for our anniversary.

Carry if I get the NTP you and your bride of 14 years will be rideing a new Rhino.
I won't make the meeting either. Me and Laynes mother are going to a Beefmaster Sale and board meeting in Ok. Then we are off to Co. where I can walk from the house/cabin to scout for elk, bear, and deer. We have lots of bear and elk and there are four bucks within 1/2 mile. One is record class. I will put the trail camera up and maybe get his picture.
Thanks to a mistake by Cabelas, I can't get a deer tag in Co. I knew he wasn't listening so I applied for unit 52 in N.M. and got it. I have seen a doe and two fawns down there in several hundred miles of looking. I have even made eyeball contact with the game warden, he was nice and helpful but not reassuring telling me I had seen most of the deer in that unit. He did tell me the best place for finding a deer like I wanted was only four miles from my house.
While scouting Betty and I explored FR 93 to the end and the beginning of no road and a burned late model Ford pickup. Heavy rain made it much more exiciting. We forded the Brazos river in the Jeep, then we couldnot find the trail. We went through marshes, mudholes, elk, and past three cabins one of which fell in from last winters heavy snow. Relatively few white people have ever seen this country. We came out below Chama after going 17 mile to a locked gate. My new best friend, John Edwards, helped me get out after telling me to go back like I came. I told him I doubted that was possible, he thought for a while then said you are probably right, I can't believe you made it here anyway. He said it took two trucks to pull one guy off a rock in the Brazos, one guy ran a tire off the rim, one caught his truck on fire and it burned.
This is some of the wildest, most beautiful country in the west. There was a huge unexplainable rock slide, almost on flat ground. I was dumbfounded by and stopped to try to figure out what happened, couldn't.
I got to go back on a bike and take lots of pictures.
I hope the Rhino makes it for your Anniversary. I will have my sister-in-law look in my mail box for the NTP.
Trails on our property, I love side hills.
