| Vintage Cross Country Race at OC Sept 6,7 - Need HELP! | June 28, 2008 @ 9:58am | I promised Pete "da Prez" I would work to make sure the National Vintage Cross Country Race he has scheduled to happen at Old Crow September 6 and 7 will happen in a BIG way.
I don't know much about this vintage stuff but I do believe it will be much easer to put on than a Hare Scrambles.
I need some help.
Who might be willing to lend a hand, an afternoon, a day, a weekend, a week: to make this race go on as Pete had planned.
Heck, if you want to get patriotic, then lend a hand for Pete and all the other soldiers over seas who like to ride and race.
Pete is starting to feed me info and contacts in the AHRMA who have experience in this type of race. As I get more info as just what I need to do I will pass it on here and ask for more specific help.
For now I just need to know who might be interested in lending a hand, even if it's just for and hour of making phone calls to line up port-a-potties.

If you've never seen a former Pro level sidehack duo tear up a grass track on a vintage rig, you have missed out on a unique part of motorcycle racing. If you've never seen a 60 something yr old guy haul on a BSA, same-same. I wish I could be there. |

I'd like you to help me with the trails.
I was out to OC for a few hours today and have a good idea for the Vintage Race route. It's 3.5 miles and needs a LOT of trimming.
I need to add about 1 mile to it for the Post Vintage race. Then mark it and start trimming.
I'm gone for the week but will be home Thursday night.
Do you have any time Friday or this weekend?
If you and Dingo can help me with the trails, field and running the race I think we'll be OK.
Do you have an email addy for Mike Chism?

I might be at the cookout this weekend. Depends on if anyone wants to stay at BC and ride. I'd like to see everyone from the club. I've hyped the ride at BC this weekend before I knew about the cookout, so I guess I should stay if anyone wants to. |

| Vintage Race | July 17, 2008 @ 11:27pm | Did anyone notice that Chuck Sun was 6 overall in the Fl. Gncc morning race? He called a while back to tell me he is racing the World Senior MX Series. I haven't found any results yet.
I don't know what Malcom is doing but I will give him a try. I bet I could get John Penton or Drew Smith to consider. |

| Vintage Trail is Marked | July 20, 2008 @ 10:18pm | The vintage race course is marked with white ribon. It's 3.5 miles (not counting the feild section).
The trail begins at the feild side of the gas line on the left.
Needs loppers, chain saw and weedeater.
I can handle all the chain saw stuff.
If you have time and want to get in some good exercise - have at it!
Be careful in the feild, it's full of ticks!

Things are shaping up for the race, just need a little more help promised to ease my pain.
I have made changes to the July 12 post which is a roster of duties.
Eddie and the ATV crowd: Is it possible to have an ATV and driver available to hang with the ambulance guys in case they need a ride down the trail?
Still need a back check volunteer (2) and three volunteers to work the main check each day.
