Brock Creek 24 hr Invitational Non-Event. June 24, 2008 @ 3:38pm
I got enthused about the 24 hr format of the Perry Mtn race. I got my butt kicked, got a little embarrased, but I had fun anyway. I want to have an informal "non-event" at BC. NOT a race. Just a bunch of guys who like technical riding who do all the trails there, then do them backwards, then do them at night. And yes, Copperhead will be on the map. My idea is to have the experienced technical guys hit the obstacles first, then help those who don't make it. We will carry a decent pace but one which can be done all day and for a couple of night hours. I'll probably keep it under 50 people for the FS, although I doubt there will be more than 25 who actually show up. So far I have about 15-20 tentatively interested.

Tentative list of riders:
Me
JEB
BigfootOK
Pete, (a guy I met at the Perry Mtn race, not Pete the Prez, but I hope Pete the Prez can make it at least for the day ride. Pete said he don't ride at night).
Devro. (I know he will want to do it).
Disco. (Ditto for the snake charmer).
Chris White.
Skyler. (I hope).
The BPD/KC guys, Nate, Bud, Wade, maybe Jason, others?
IbGoinAJ (ktmtalk)
Probably a few local HS and Enduro guys?
The more the merrier. I hope we can have two groups with two leaders. My idea is to stagger about 10 minutes apart but ride the same routes. We will eventually kind of group into a faster and slower group, and end up together at the obstacles. We can have a rally point somewhere at about 3 times per day if we get seperated. When we get seperated. If Jim Cook decides to do the WUDI at BC again, maybe we can do my idea the same weekend, in conjunction? I will try to make up T shirts for the finishers. A T shirt and a shot of Moonshine maybe? Maybe Red VanZant will show up!

I think you read me wrong jefro. I don't ride to hurt, I ride for fun. I have nothing to prove to myself or anyone else.
I can ride for a long time, I can ride fairly technical, but I don't particularly enjoy riding Copperhead Trail.
I don't know if doing a 35 mile loop at BC three times in one day, once at night, is my cup of tea.

But I will come to help you if I happen to have that weekend off.
When you thinking of doing this? This fall or early winter I hope.
The WUDI is next March isn't it?

You and Zach did 90 miles in one day at BC, what's another 25? there are no rules for this, just fun. If you want to hit the truck at tny time, you know where it is. No trying to impress anyone, I just like hard stuff. Kind of weird that way. Who knows, I might not make it!
